A Gentle Festive Pause, For Me and For You

As the year draws to a close, Pawfect Training Academy will be taking a short festive break, reopening on Friday, 2nd January 2026.

This pause is intentional. It is about stepping back briefly, spending time with my dogs, and allowing space to rest and reset, so I can return refreshed and fully present for the dogs and families I support.

Training, especially kind and ethical training, requires emotional energy. When we work with dogs, we are not just teaching behaviours. We are supporting nervous systems, building trust, and helping dogs feel safe in a world that can often feel overwhelming. To do that well, rest matters.

Why Rest Matters, For Humans and Dogs

We talk a lot about rest for dogs, and rightly so. Downtime helps dogs process learning, regulate emotions, and recover from stress. The same principle applies to us.

When we push through exhaustion, we lose clarity. We become less patient, less observant, and less effective. Stepping away briefly allows me to come back with a clearer head, renewed focus, and the energy needed to continue offering thoughtful, individualised support.

Think of it like sleep after a busy training day. Nothing is lost by resting. In fact, it is often where the learning settles.

What This Means For You

During the festive break:

  • Emails, messages, and enquiries will be responded to once I am back.
  • January bookings remain open and can be made via the website while I am away.
  • Training plans, resources, and ongoing programmes will continue exactly as agreed.

If you are already working with me, nothing changes other than response times. If you are planning ahead for the new year, you are very welcome to secure your spot now.

A Gentle Reminder for the Festive Period

The festive season can be a lot for dogs. Changes in routine, visitors, noise, and excitement all add up. If there is one thing I encourage over the next couple of weeks, it is kindness through predictability.

Quiet days are not wasted days. Calm walks, enrichment at home, rest, and choice go a long way in helping dogs cope with this time of year.

Training does not stop because you pause formal sessions. Learning continues in everyday moments, especially when dogs feel safe and supported.

Thank You

Thank you for trusting me with your dogs. Thank you for choosing kind, force-free training. And thank you for supporting Pawfect Training Academy throughout the year.

I wish you and your dogs a calm, cosy, and pawsitive festive period, and I look forward to supporting you again in the new year.
